Nokia Bell Labs Develops New Battery for 5G World

NOKIA BELL LABS AND AMBER RESEARCHERS FORMULATE NEW BATTERY DESIGN FOR THE 5G WORLD

Recently, Nokia officially announced that it is developing new battery technology for the arrival of 5G. This new product can provide 2.5 times battery life compared with the current market capacity of ultra-thin batteries.

  • New battery technology provides critical attributes for 5G networks, renewable energy grids, and the consumer and Industrial Internet of Things.

  • Offers 2.5 times the battery life in the same volume as the current market-leading super slim battery.

  • Doubles the energy a battery can carry without changing the weight, a critical requirement for uses such as IoT networks, electric vehicles and drones.

Researchers at Nokia Bell Labs and AMBER, the SFI Centre for Advanced Materials and BioEngineering Research hosted at Trinity College Dublin, today announced they have created a new, innovative formula for battery composition that makes batteries more powerful by packing 2.5 times the battery life than anything currently on the market. As the world transitions to 5G, ushering in a new era of consumer and industrial Internet of Things (everything from wearable technologies, pervasive sensors, to industrial robots), this new, game-changing battery design has the potential to help power the connected world of the future.

The increasing power requirements of connected devices such as smartphones, drones, electric cars and robots necessitates greater battery performance for both new applications as well as longer battery lifetimes. The new battery design also has far-reaching implications for 4G and 5G networks where conventional power may not be available for network equipment, or where emergency backup battery systems are essential to keep systems running.

An additional benefit to this new technology is its potential to improve the performance of large-scale energy grids powered by renewable energy.  The demand for reliable power relies on storage technologies, such as the battery technology described here, to manage the high fluctuation in energy generation in today’s wind and solar renewable technologies.  A new study from Wood Mackenzie shows that the energy storage in 100 per cent renewable systems will likely be 25 times higher as compared to today’s systems.

Xiaomi Has Announced to Launch New CC Series With Meitu

“Xiaomi has announced to launch its new camera-centric CC series in partnership with Meitu”

Xiaomi has announced to launch its new camera-centric CC series in partnership with Meitu. This is the first product of that collaboration to be called Xiaomi CC9 and a lighter Xiaomi CC9e and has Flip Camera.

CC Series

Lei Jun, the Xiaomi CEO, introduced the CC series, explaining the meaning behind the name. It means “Colorful & Creative”, and is developed by the Chic & Cool 90 team. The number in the CC9 moniker stands for the age of the company – 9 years.

The Xiaomi CC smartphones will be the third brand by the company following the Redmi and Mi phones. This will be a different series, designed by art students and targeted at young fashion trendsetters that “want to define themselves”. The Chic & Cool 90 team pursuit aesthetics first, which could mean the phone is likely to have less than impressive specs.

The new phone will have a new aesthetics concept of “Xiaomi X Meitu AI Aesthetics Lab”, combining advanced camera hardware and beauty technology.

This is likely a different way to say Xiaomi is going to implement even more beauty filters and AI engines to enhance the photos since those are very trendy China, but time will tell.

What to Do, If Your Phone has been Stolen? What is CEIR?

0

Does your phone steal? What is CEIR?

What is CEIR?The CEIR (Central Equipment Identify Register) will allow telecom carriers to share information on lost devices so as to prevent them from getting reactivated with a new SIM on a different network. Does your phone steal? Are you in trouble? Where did I complain? What should do?

Under CEIR, all operators will share these lists with each other, ensuring that a phone registered on one network does not get activated on another through illegal means.

what is ceir

Now stop thinking all, just go ahead to call a 14422 (helpline number). A common usage of a CEIR is with stolen mobile devices, Once a user reports to their operator about the theft, the mobile devices’s IMEI number should be entered into the CEIR, supposedly making the device unusable in any network (although this does not always work).

Each mobile network has an equipment identity register, classifying permitted IMEIs under a white list. Phones that don’t conform to the local regulations are listed on what is called a grey list, while those that are stolen or lost are on a blacklist.

By December this may start in the whole country. The government has also released a helpline number 14422 which can be stolen or lost mobile complaint.

A Central Equipment Identity Register is a database of the IMEI numbers of blacklisted handsets. If a device’s ESN or IMEI number is listed on a CEIR, it is not supposed to work on member service providers’ networks; only paying members may access the database.

A key reason this sometimes does not work is that while many operators from many countries contribute  IMEIs to the CEIR, each also having a unique profile that determines which operators’ blocks will be included on the CEIR updates received by each operator. The UK networks, for example, do not receive those block records originated by non-UK networks.

what is ceir

Annual fees are required for access to the CEIR, and access is tightly regulated Contributing operators decide for themselves which handsets they will block from their own networks, and many network operators simply do not participate at all. Blocking users means losing revenue.

For operators, it is often a tradeoff between business ethics and revenue. If one other operator in a country does not block the use of stolen handsets, revenue flows to that operator instead of the other, more ethical ones.

How Curefit Online is Helping India Get Healthy?

“One very important thing that Curefit online and Cult want to do is make fitness interesting, make it your playground so that you enjoy it, you look forward to coming back and working out,” he added. “Because if it is boring, if it’s something you’re not enjoying, you may probably end up doing it for a month; after that, you’ll slowly start dropping out, and that’s what happens everywhere.”

CureFit online

Mukesh co-founded Curefit, with Ankit Nagori in 2016. A fitness and wellbeing start-up, Curefit has under its umbrella eat. fit, cult.fit, mind.fit and care. fit offering digital and offline experiences in health and fitness, nutrition, and mental well-being. Cure.fit has raised over $170 million in its first two years of operations. Moreover, it also has raised $145 million in a funding round led by food delivery company Zomato Ltd.

Now Indian health app Cure.fit renamed to Cult.fit.

Cult Membership :

A three-month Cult membership costs Rs 9,000 and offers access to unlimited classes at any of the centres. There’s also a more flexible, albeit costlier, option to pay Rs 300 per class. In both cases, the first week is free for new users, and everyone has to book their sessions with a click of a button on Cult’s website or via the Curefit app, which was launched earlier this year.

Eat.fit

There was an increasing demand among millennials for healthy and nutritious food over restaurant food, especially on working days. This sparked the idea for Eat.fit, under their fitness and wellness startup, Cure.fit. Eat.fit is an online food delivery service focussing on healthy food.

Eat fit_CureFit online

“Our menu primarily consists of the most popular, favourite and homely dishes that span Indian, fusion food, salads, and snacks. They are low in calories and carbs and have a high protein to keep you full for longer,”

We especially liked the surprise superfood box that comes with each order, a small pack of salted almonds or caramelized walnuts for that extra kick of energy.

Curefit online sampled the Indian box, which had Chana Masala, Paneer Korma, and rotis. Even though Indian curries are usually on the heavier side, Eat.fit ensures that’s not the case with their guidelines. They have many rules in their kitchen about keeping their food healthy. “We only use skimmed milk and never cream or butter in our gravies. There is no refined sugar in our kitchen at all, only natural sweeteners such as jaggery or honey.

Their research declared that food is nutritious when had within 90 minutes of preparation, so their meals, packaged in biodegradable material, are only served in Koramangala and HSR Layout, in pockets that are three kilometres from their kitchens. Whitefield and Indira Nagar are next in the pipeline.

At Cult.fit online, we make fitness fun and easy. We have best in class trainers and offer group workouts ranging from yoga to Boxing. Our workouts can be done both at a Cult. fit centre and at home with the help of doing it yourself (DIY) workout videos. Cult.fit uses the best in technology to give you a world-class experience. You can book classes, follow workout videos – all with the click of a button from the cult.fit app or download by google play store. It is the best health and fitness app of India.

Mind. fit

In today’s stressful world, mind. fit gives you a place to de-stress and find a connection between your mind and body that will help you reach your overall wellness goals.

CureFit online

Highly demanding jobs and lengthy college assignments can leave you feeling mentally and physically drained. What you need is a place that is quiet and peaceful to rejuvenate your mind while also attaining physical fitness.

Cult.fit App

Members of cult. fit will also get access to the online sessions for free, including the live classes and live recipes by Curefit app. Cult. live allows customers to workout at home in a variety of formats, including in dance fitness, strength and conditioning, boxing, yoga, HIIT and more, and was made free to everyone.
