POCO X2 gets expensive after hikes in GST
A few days ago, I had informed about Smartphones May Get Expensive from April 1 as Govt Hikes GST Rate to 18% from 12%. Finally, smartphones get expensive as GST rates increase to 18% from Today.
The price of Apple iPhone smartphones increased. Besides, Recently launched smartphone, POCO X2 whose price was 16,000 hikes to 17,000.
Apart from smartphones, other products like fertilizer, footwear are in an “inverted duty structure” too. Due to Corona outbreaks, Retailers are selling essential products to their customers at a higher price than the MRP, thereby charging more to the consumer and paying less to GST authorities as these are cash transactions”.
POCO X2 New Price
After the price hike, POCO X2 new price of 6GB + 64GB variant costs Rs. 16,999, against its old price of Rs. 15,999 with GST increase to 6.25%. The 6GB + 128GB variant now costs Rs. 17,999, against its old price of Rs. 16,999 with GST increase to 5.88% and lastly the top-end 8GB + 256GB variant now costs Rs. 20,999, against its price of Rs. 19,999 with GST increase to 5%. The revised prices are already live on Flipkart but due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, it is temporarily unavailable.
